Steven Wu is an Associate Professor of Accounting and Director of Higher Degree Research at the College of Business and Economics, Australian National University. He holds a PhD from ANU and dual undergraduate degrees in Applied Finance and Commerce/Accounting from Macquarie University.
His research focuses on securities regulation, corporate innovation, corporate disclosure, and financial reporting. Key topics include determinants of effective financial regulations, information content of innovation disclosures, governance structures, and exploration expenditure accounting. His work has been published in top journals such as European Accounting Review, Accounting and Finance, and Journal of Corporate Finance.
Steven serves as an associate editor of the Australian Accounting Review and has secured research funding from CPA Australia and the AFAR. His research has explored topics ranging from tax avoidance strategies to the impact of workforce education on innovation output.
His current projects include analyzing the real effects of software development accounting policies, geographic patterns in tax avoidance, and the CSR implications of cross-border M&A activities.
