Stephen Vanner is a Professor at Queen’s University and an attending staff member in Gastroenterology at Kingston General and Hotel Dieu Hospitals. He specializes in gastrointestinal motility disorders of the lower GI tract, including the small intestine, colon, and anorectum, and directs the anorectal motility laboratory. His research focuses on mechanisms of pain signaling and motility in the gastrointestinal tract. He completed his MD and MSc concurrently at Queen’s University, followed by postdoctoral training in enteric neurophysiology at the Vollum Institute. He performs a full range of endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, and cares for inpatients and outpatients with gastrointestinal disorders.
