Dr. Steffi Marung is the Director of the Global and European Studies Institute at Leipzig University and Principal Investigator of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1199 project 'Free Radicals? Political mobilities and post-colonial processes of re-spatialization in the second half of the 20th century'. She teaches global history at Leipzig University and Addis Ababa University, specializing in Eastern Europe's global connections and Cold War dynamics. Her research focuses on socialist mobilities, international development debates, and Soviet African Studies during the Cold War.
