Stefano Cracolici is an Associate Professor in the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Pennsylvania. He was awarded the Andrew W. Mellon Penn Faculty Fellowship in the Humanities (2004–2005) for his project The Contours of Sleep in the Italian Renaissance (1420-1720).
Research Interests:
- Historical and cultural analysis of sleep practices during the Italian Renaissance
- Epistemological skepticism toward dream interpretation
- Wakefulness as a performative cultural framework
- Anthropological approaches to daily rituals and ceremonies surrounding sleep
