Staci L Loewy

Staci L Loewy is a Radiogenic Isotope Geochemist and Researcher at the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Jackson School of Geosciences, University of Texas at Austin. She holds a PhD from UT Austin (2002), specializing in paleogeography and isotopic geochemistry. Her career includes roles as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina and Assistant Professor at California State University Bakersfield, where she taught and managed educational outreach programs. Since 2011, she has focused on lab management and research at UT, overseeing clean labs and mass spectrometry facilities. Her research integrates geochronology and isotopic analysis to study tectonic processes, with recent projects in Patagonia and Japan.

Dr. Loewy teaches courses on mass spectrometry techniques and mentors students in analytical methods. She co-leads lab operations involving TIMS, ICP-MS, and petrographic microscopy. Beyond academia, she contributes to programs like GeoFORCE and previously led NSF-funded teacher training initiatives. Her work bridges education, facility management, and collaborative research in Earth sciences.
