Dr Claudine Israel serves as a Researcher and Research Facility Manager for the Clean Labs at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Cambridge. Her role centers on managing specialized clean laboratory facilities and providing technical leadership in high-precision geochemical analysis for Earth and planetary sciences research.

Her research expertise lies in isotope geochemistry applied to Earth sciences, with specific focus on mantle geochemistry, cosmochemistry, and silicate differentiation processes. She specializes in mass spectrometry techniques for trace element and isotopic characterization of geological and extraterrestrial samples, including advanced work on La-Ce and Sm-Nd isotope systematics to investigate planetary differentiation mechanisms and early Earth evolution events.

As Clean Labs Facility Manager, she oversees critical analytical infrastructure including Thermal Ionisation Mass Spectrometry (TIMS) and Multi-Collector ICP-MS operations. Her technical innovations include developing specialized chemical separation protocols for cerium, neodymium, and tungsten isotopic analysis, significantly advancing ultra-high precision measurements for studies of Earth's formation and the Great Oxydation Event.
