Shawn Galvin is an Adjunct Professor at Louisiana State University's School of Music, serving as Artist-in-Residence. He has performed globally as a percussionist and timpanist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (1996–present), United States Navy Band (2001–2008), and as founder of New Music Raleigh. His academic background includes a Master of Science in Arts Administration from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Duquesne University.
Research & Artistic Contributions: Galvin focuses on contemporary classical music, small-market orchestra engagement, and interdisciplinary collaborations. He has released albums featuring works by D.J. Sparr and Brett William Dietz, and his research explores community-building through modern compositions.
