Shawn Alfonso-Wells

Shawn Alfonso-Wells is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of History at Carnegie Mellon University, affiliated with the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She joined the university in 2008 after completing her doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh. As an anthropologist, her academic focus centers on Latin American culture, particularly Cuba, and explores intersections of sex, gender, and race relations.
