Shauna Corry is the Dean and Associate Professor in the College of Art and Architecture at the University of Idaho. She holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary/Environment & Behavior from Washington State University (2002), an M.A. in Home Economics/Interior Design (1990), and a B.S. in Housing and Interiors from Utah State University (1984). Her research focuses on social justice in the built environment, Universal Design, and placemaking. She has held leadership roles, including Term/Interim Dean, Acting Associate Dean, and Head of the Interior Design Program. She currently serves as Director at Large for the Interior Design Educators Council Foundation (IDECF).
Dr. Corry has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Hoffman Excellence in Teaching Award and eight Alumni Awards for student mentorship. She actively participates in community initiatives, such as chairing the Idaho Historic Site Review Board and serving on the Moscow Fair and Affordable Housing Commission. Her teaching emphasizes environment-behavior relationships, community service-learning, and design studio practices.
Her professional service includes roles as IDEC Pacific West Regional Chair and Athena President/Vice President. She has contributed to institutional leadership through CAA’s core team and has shaped interior design education nationally and locally.
