Dr. Sevinç Türkkan is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition at Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Illinois-Urbana and previously taught at Oberlin College, Binghamton University, and the University of Rochester.
Her research explores intersections of rhetoric, translation, and multilingualism, with focus areas including:
- Rhetorical approaches to multimodal translation
- Transnational literacy practices
- Community-engaged pedagogy
- Cross-cultural communication theories
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on Turkish literature and translation politics, with recent work examining political dissent and linguistic hybridity.
