Selen Kars

Selen Kars is an Associate Professor in Organisation Studies at the University of the West of England, within the College of Business and Law's Department of Business & Management. She holds qualifications including PhD, SFHEA, MBA, and BA. Her teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and executive courses in sociology of organisations, leadership, high performing teams, and managing change, where she serves as Module Leader for Understanding Organisations and People.

Dr. Kars' research focuses on organizational learning, knowledge management, dynamic capabilities, and innovation, with particular interest in micro-level aspects of organizational development. She explores how organizations develop and deploy intangible resources like knowledge and networks for growth. Her recent work examines everyday leaderly practices through The Unleadership Movement, a project she co-leads with Dr. Hugo Gaggiotti and Prof. Carol Jarvis, which investigates ordinary people's practices that redraw leader-follower relations in post-pandemic organizing.
