Sean Savoie is a Teaching Professor of Design-Technical Theater and Coordinator of the Design-Technical Theater Program at Washington University in St. Louis. He serves as resident lighting designer and production manager with over 15 years of professional experience.
His creative work encompasses lighting design and production management for over 50 regional productions, including collaborations with Stages St. Louis, St. Louis Black Rep, Union Ave Opera, and Winter Opera St. Louis. Notable designs include Spring Awakening, Cabaret, and experimental productions at Know Theatre.
Savoie holds an MFA in Lighting Design and Technology from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and a BFA from the University of Southern Mississippi. As a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829, he maintains active industry engagement.
He has guest lectured internationally, including at Entertainment Technology New Zealand (ETNZ), and serves as Production Manager for St. Louis Variety Children's Theatre.
