Sally Hayward Goudreau

Sally Hayward Goudreau, M.D., is a Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Breast Imaging Division. She serves as Director of the Breast Imaging Fellowship program and has dedicated her career to the early detection of breast cancer through innovative screening and diagnostic technologies. Dr. Goudreau holds leadership positions on multiple UT Southwestern committees and serves as a Medical Student and Resident Ambassador.

Her research focuses on developing new technologies and techniques for breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, with particular emphasis on stereotactic radiation therapy, breast density screening, and improving patient education materials. Her publication record demonstrates expertise in radioactive seed localization, ultrasound-guided procedures, and microwave imaging for breast screening.

Dr. Goudreau's clinical work has been complemented by significant contributions to medical education and professional societies. She is a Fellow of both the American College of Radiology and the Society of Breast Imaging, and a founding member of the Society for the Advancement of Women's Imaging. Her commitment to improving healthcare extends beyond clinical practice to include volunteer work with the U.S. Women's National Water Polo Team and supporting higher education through endowed scholarships.

Her educational background includes a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University, her medical degree from UT Southwestern, and specialized training in breast imaging, MRI, ultrasound, and CT at the University of Iowa.
