Basak Dogan

Basak Dogan, M.D., is a Clinical Professor of Radiology and the Eugene P. Frenkel, M.D. Scholar in Clinical Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She directs Breast Imaging Research and previously served as Medical Director of the MD Anderson Ben and Julie Rogers Main Campus Breast Diagnostic Clinic. Dr. Dogan earned her M.D. from Hacettepe University (Turkey) and completed radiology residency at Ankara University Medical School, followed by a breast imaging fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Her research focuses on advanced breast MRI applications, optoacoustic imaging, and microbubble contrast-enhanced ultrasound. She has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and serves on key committees like the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group and ACR Data Science Institute. Dr. Dogan holds leadership roles in professional societies, including the Society of Breast Imaging (FSBI), and contributes to ACR appropriateness criteria for breast imaging.
