Sabrina Yunzhu Tao

Sabrina Yunzhu Tao is a Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures (EALL) at the University of Oregon, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. She earned her PhD in Modern Chinese Literature and Culture from the University of Oregon, with additional academic training from institutions including The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Her research focuses on Cold War transnationalism, socialist internationalism, and cultural production in China and Hong Kong. Her dissertation examines 'socialist Chineseness' through audiovisual propaganda in Cold War Hong Kong.

Sabrina has published works on topics such as socialist cinema, music transplantation, and cultural diplomacy. She has organized academic conferences on socialist internationalism and presented research at events including the Asian Cinema Studies Society Conference and Association for Asian Studies Annual Conference. Her teaching portfolio spans Chinese language courses and seminars on literature, cinema, and popular culture.

Additional contributions include translating academic works into Chinese and writing creative fiction published in Chinese literary journals. Her professional engagement combines scholarship with pedagogical innovation and cross-cultural communication.
