Fr. Ryan Ruiz serves as an Associate Professor of Liturgy and Sacraments, Vice-Rector, Director of Formation, and Director of Liturgy at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology (The Athenaeum of Ohio) in Cincinnati. He previously served as Dean of the School of Theology from 2019 to 2024. Ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in 2008, he earned his doctorate in Sacred Liturgy from the Pontifical Liturgical Institute of Sant’Anselmo (Rome, Italy) in 2016. He holds roles as a consultant to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Divine Worship, archepiscopal delegate for the traditional Latin Mass, and censor librorum for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
He is a Board member of the Society for Catholic Liturgy and has lectured at institutions including the Liturgical Institute (Chicago), Catholic University of America (Washington, D.C.), and Christendom College’s Institute for Liturgical Formation. His expertise spans liturgical theology, sacramental practices, and ecclesiastical governance.
