Ruth Neustifter

Ruth Neustifter serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Relations & Applied Nutrition at the University of Guelph's College of Social & Applied Human Sciences. Her qualitative research explores intersectional experiences of sexual/gender minorities and relational resilience in trauma survivors.

Educational credentials include a PhD in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia (2009) and an MS in Social Work/Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisville (2005).

Research examines LGBTQ+ experiences, consensual non-monogamy, trauma recovery mechanisms, and inclusive sexuality education frameworks. Work emphasizes anti-oppressive approaches and strengths-based methodologies for understanding relational violence and minority stress.
