Rosemary Rasmussen is a Lecturer in Medical Laboratory Science at the University of the Sunshine Coast's School of Health. With extensive experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in both public and private pathology laboratories, she coordinates placements for the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science program.
Her doctoral research, conducted in collaboration with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, examines demographic changes in blood donor populations and sustainable donation strategies for Australia's aging and multicultural society. Teaching responsibilities include hematology, clinical microbiology, and transfusion sciences courses.
Professional memberships include the Australian and New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion (ANZSBT) and Queensland College of Teachers (QCT). In 2023, she was recognized as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
