Robert Stockhammer is a Professor of Comparative Literature at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, where he holds the Chair of Comparative Literature since 2007. He received his Ph.D. in 1989 with a thesis on hermeneutic alternatives and completed his Habilitation in 1998 with a study on magic's return in literature (1880-1945). His work spans global literary theory and interdisciplinary research.
