About
Robert Rember serves as an Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator (PI) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, actively contributing to Arctic research through the Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) project funded by the National Science Foundation.
His research spans Arctic Science, Oceanography, Climatology, Environmental Science, Biogeochemistry, and Sea Ice Research, with a focus on chemical, physical, and biological processes linking snow and sea ice to the Arctic Ocean mixed layer. He conducts nutrient analysis of sea ice, snow, and seawater to enhance climate modeling accuracy through the MOSAiC platform.
As a funded NSF researcher, Dr. Rember leads critical tasks within the MOSAiC Team's Ecosystem and Sea Ice domain during Leg I of the expedition, advancing understanding of Arctic ecosystem dynamics from his Alaska-based position.
