Robert Dobbie

Robert Dobbie is an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Concept Art Minor Area Head at Otis College of Art and Design. He is affiliated with the departments of BFA Game and Entertainment Design, BFA Illustration, and Interdisciplinary Studies.

Education: Dobbie earned a BFA in Illustration from Otis College of Art and Design in 2001. His artistic journey began after surviving childhood cancer, which redirected his passion from professional baseball to music and art. Growing up in Hermosa Beach, CA, he played in the punk band 'Lunacy' for ten years, deeply influencing his creative approach.

Research & Creative Interests focus on Concept Art, Illustration, and Entertainment Design, blending elements of Visual Arts, Punk Subculture, and Music-Themed Art. His work has been showcased in galleries across Los Angeles, New York, Rome, London, and Sydney, reflecting his interdisciplinary background.

Professional Accomplishments include exhibitions at Corey Helford Gallery (2020, 2021, 2023) and La Luz de Jesus, Billy Shire Fine Arts in Los Angeles. His art has been featured in publications like Juxtapoz, DPi, Hi-Fructose, and Village Voice. Dobbie has collaborated with major clients such as Kraft Foods, Intel, Aflac, Hurley, and Village Voice.

Scientific Awards & Honors include gallery exhibitions in LA, New York, Rome, London, and Sydney. His professional achievements underscore his impact on the contemporary art scene.
