Richard N. Gioioso is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the International Relations Program at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. His research focuses on migration patterns of Latin American/Caribbean communities in the U.S., socio-political changes in Cuba, and Cuban legal philosophy. He holds a PhD in International Relations from Florida International University (2010), alongside MA and BA degrees in International Studies and Spanish.

Awards include the 2019 Junior Faculty Teaching Award from CLASP. His teaching spans Global Politics, Latin American Politics, and Political Economy. Current research examines historical and contemporary Cuban political philosophy.
