Rich Grula

Rich Grula serves as Studio Director and Senior Instructor at the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA), University of Central Florida, overseeing motion capture and sound stage operations while teaching audio production since joining full-time in 2008. Previously, he held faculty and operational roles at UCF FILM.

His academic credentials include:

• BFA in Film & Television from New York University
• MS in Digital Media / Interactive Entertainment from FIEA (2006, inaugural graduating class)

With two decades spanning creative, business, and academic media domains, Grula specializes in interactive entertainment systems, game audio engineering, and digital media production. His expertise bridges practical industry experience with pedagogical instruction, informed by extensive work in film festival curation, music production, and media criticism for outlets like Gamasutra and MovieMaker.

As Studio Director, he manages FIEA's technical facilities supporting student game development projects through hands-on audio and motion capture resources.
