Renee Bishop is a Teaching Professor of Dramatic Writing at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), holding this position since 2017. She also serves as Graduate Coordinator for the Dramatic Writing Department and has held roles such as Adjunct Professor (2016–2017), Graduate Teaching Intern (2011), and Temporary/Part-Time Instructor at Savannah State University (2013–2014). Her educational background includes an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from SCAD and a B.A. in Theatre from the University of South Florida.
Her professional work spans theatre, film, and television. As a director, she has helmed productions like Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and The Rocky Horror Show. As an actor, she performed in A Streetcar Named Desire, and as a playwright, her works include Emmett, This Here be Hate, Silver Lake Reflection, and others. In film/TV, she has executive producer credits for Farmer's Almanac TV (PBS) and co-created HBO's A Question of Miracles: America Undercover.
Bishop holds leadership roles in industry organizations, including Governor of the Southeast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and Vice Chair of the Georgia State Film and Video Commission.
