Elizabeth Sampson

Elizabeth Sampson is a Professor of Performing Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2021. She holds an M.F.A. in Acting from American Conservatory Theater and a B.A. in Liberal Studies from Antioch University. Her career includes adjunct roles at Pepperdine University (2010–2017), acting instructor positions at UCLA School of Film and TV, and guest teaching at California State University. Sampson is a core member of The Road Theater Company since 1995, and maintains affiliations with Actor's Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild since 1990 and 1991 respectively.

Her work spans acting in over 20 television series including Law & Order, Grey's Anatomy, and Cold Case, alongside film roles in Last Rampage and Battle Of the Sexes. Sampson is also a prolific playwright, having authored acclaimed plays like The Lighthouse (2018 revival) and The Skeleton Flower (2020), both produced by The Road Theatre Company. Her directing credits include Dearest of Friends (2004) and Midsummer Night's Dream (2000).

Her creative writing extends to spoken-word pieces such as Pause Podcast and Melt In Your Mouth, showcasing her versatility across performance mediums. Sampson's career demonstrates a strong focus on theatrical storytelling, collaborative education, and maintaining artistic rigor across diverse platforms.
