Rebecca Phillips

Dr. Rebecca Phillips is a Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Colorado State University, leading the Wind Symphony and graduate wind conducting programs. She previously held roles at the University of South Carolina, including Associate Director of Bands and Director of Athletic Bands.

Her research interests focus on preserving traditional wind music and promoting contemporary compositions. She has commissioned works by composers like William Bolcom and John Mackey, and her performances are featured on nationally distributed recordings. Dr. Phillips is active internationally as a guest conductor and clinician, leading honor bands in Europe, North America, and Asia.

She currently chairs the Music Education Committee for the College Band Directors National Association and co-chairs the American Bandmasters Association Commissioning Committee. Dr. Phillips’ ensembles have performed at major conventions, including the American Bandmasters Association National Convention and the College Band Directors National Association Conference.
