Rebecca Broyer

Rebecca Broyer is a Teaching Professor of Chemistry at the University of Southern California’s Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. She holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from UC San Diego (2000) and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from UCLA (2009), followed by postdoctoral training in conservation science at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Her research focuses on polymer-based bioconjugation technologies and innovative chemistry education strategies. She pioneered the use of virtual reality for laboratory safety training and developed colorful compound methods for acid-base extraction visualization. Her work bridges polymer chemistry with biomedical applications, emphasizing nanoarray fabrication and cell adhesion engineering.

Her publications highlight trends in educational technology adoption and material science innovations. She actively contributes to USC’s academic governance through roles on the Provost/Senate Sustainability Committee and Dornsife Faculty Council. She advises student organizations including the USC Coaching Corps and Society of Cosmetic Chemists.
