Stephanie Pazos

Stephanie Pazos is an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), part of the College of Letters and Science. She holds a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from UCLA, an M.S. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a B.S. in Chemistry from UC Irvine.

Her research focuses on Chemical Education and Inorganic Chemistry, with expertise in materials modification via photochemistry. Her doctoral work on perfluorophenylazide photochemistry earned the UCLA Chemists Association Dissertation Award. She has also contributed to polymer, surface science, and nanofluidic research in industry settings.

Her publications explore advanced materials applications, including antifouling surfaces, graphene networks for supercapacitors, and membrane coatings for environmental applications. Notable awards include the Eugene V. Cota-Robles Fellowship and active participation in SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science).
