Rachel N. Baum is a Senior Teaching Faculty member and Coordinator at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's College of Letters & Science, within the Department of Ancient & Modern Languages, Literatures, & Cultures, specializing in Hebrew and Jewish studies. She serves as Deputy Director of the Sam & Helen Stahl Center for Jewish Studies and co-directs the Stephen Weinstein Holocaust Symposium.
Her research examines Holocaust memory, Jewish-American culture, and the impact of emerging technologies like holography and virtual reality on remembrance practices. Publications analyze pedagogical approaches to Holocaust education, museum ethics, emotional dimensions of historical trauma, and second-generation witnessing.
She teaches courses on the Holocaust, Jewish film, and Jewish-American cultural studies, and serves on the Holocaust Education and Resource Center advisory board.
