QUEK Anderson Dorcas

QUEK Anderson Dorcas is a Full-time Associate Professor of Law at the Yong Pung How School of Law, Singapore Management University (SMU). She holds a LL.M. from Harvard University and a LL.B. (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore. Her research focuses on Dispute Resolution, Courts and Access to Justice, and Civil Procedure, with a strong emphasis on Empirical Legal Research in Mediation and Online Dispute Resolution (ODR). She has held roles such as Associate Dean (Student, Staff & Alumni Affairs) at SMU and currently serves as a Mediator at the Singapore International Mediation Centre and Singapore Mediation Centre.

Her teaching excellence has been recognized through multiple Dean’s Excellence Teaching Awards (2020–2023) and nominations for SMU’s Most Innovative Teacher Award. Her research explores mediation ethics, the impact of technology on dispute resolution, and the role of courts in promoting ADR. Notable works include studies on communication modes in post-pandemic mediation and the Singapore Convention on Mediation’s global significance.

Dr. Quek has contributed to policy reforms through her analysis of court-mandated mediation and mediated settlement enforceability. She also serves as a District Judge (2009–2016), Fellow at the National Center for Technology and Dispute Resolution, and holds certifications in mediation from SIMI and IMI.
