Daniel SEAH

Dr. Daniel Seah is a Full-time Assistant Professor of Law (Education) at the College of Integrative Studies and Yong Pung How School of Law, Singapore Management University (SMU). He joined SMU in 2022, focusing on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of ASEAN law, emerging technologies, and social dynamics. His work examines misinformation, decentralized dispute resolution, open-source governance, and innovative legal pedagogy.

Education: PhD in Law (University College London, 2018), M.Jur (University of Birmingham, 2008), LL.B (University of Durham, 2001). He is an Advocate & Solicitor of the Singapore Supreme Court since 2004.

Research emphasizes ASEAN-centric legal developments, including cryptocourts, social media algorithms, and social prescription initiatives for seniors. He teaches courses like Digital Law & Technological Innovations and Singapore: Imagining The Next Fifty Years.

His publications span AI ethics, algorithmic accountability, ASEAN legal frameworks, and legal education innovation. Active in interdisciplinary collaborations, he explores how technology reshapes legal systems and societal norms in Southeast Asia.
