Dr. Piper Wentz serves as Associate Professor and Co-Chair in the School of Education at Benedictine College, where she has taught since 2011. She specializes in upper-level methods courses and student teacher supervision within the Elementary Education program.
Her educational background includes a B.S. in Elementary Education from The University of St. Mary (1993), an M.A. in School Leadership from Benedictine College, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Teaching from the University of Kansas. Prior to academia, she spent 12 years as a classroom teacher.
Dr. Wentz's research focuses on Elementary Education with emphasis on Children's Literature integration and Differentiated Instruction strategies to address diverse learner needs. Her practical approach bridges theoretical curriculum design with classroom implementation.
She actively supervises student teachers, contributing to educator development pipelines. Outside academia, Dr. Wentz resides with her family on a Nortonville farm, enjoying motorcycle riding, hot tub relaxation, and rural landscapes.
