Phillip Truex is a part-time faculty member at the University of North Georgia (UNG) in the Music Department. A native of Binghamton, NY, he is a trombonist, educator, and performer with over 12 years of teaching experience. He holds a M.M. in Trombone Performance (2011) from the University of Northern Colorado and a B.M. in Music Performance and Education (2009) from Ithaca College.

Truex maintains a small private studio for low brass instruction (trombone, bass trombone, euphonium, tuba) and works as a teaching artist at Ken Stanton Music. His expertise spans chamber music, jazz performance, and music education, with a focus on fostering lifelong musical passion in students.
