Peter Newton

Peter Newton is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Environmental Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. His interdisciplinary research focuses on socio-environmental systems, with primary areas in conservation/sustainable development in tropical forests and sustainable agriculture/food systems.

Dr. Newton leads the Group for Interdisciplinary Research on Agriculture, Food, Forests, Environment, and Sustainability (GIRAFFES), mentoring graduate students in MS and PhD programs. He also engages with visiting scholars and undergraduate honors students.
