Peter Neumann is Professor of Security Studies at King's College London's Department of War Studies and founding director of the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR). His research examines terrorism, radicalization, and counterterrorism strategies, with expertise in jihadist movements, prison deradicalization, and online extremism.
He has authored influential books including 'Bluster: Donald Trump's War on Terror' (2020) and 'Radicalized: New Jihadists and the Threat to the West' (2016). Neumann served as OSCE's Special Representative on Countering Violent Extremism (2017) and has advised UN Security Council counterterrorism initiatives.
Recent work analyzes ISIS defector narratives, extremist offender management in European prisons, and the crime-terror nexus. His policy reports have shaped counterterrorism approaches globally, and he regularly testifies before parliamentary committees internationally.
