About
Dr. Rajan Basra is a Senior Research Fellow at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR) and postdoctoral researcher at King's College London's Department of War Studies. His research examines terrorist cognition and behavior, with special focus on terrorist recruitment in prisons, crime-terror networks, and weapons acquisition by extremist groups.
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on three interconnected themes: the operational dynamics of terrorist financing, radicalization processes within correctional systems, and the evolving nexus between criminal activities and terrorism. Recent work shows increasing attention to technological dimensions of terrorism including 3D-printed weapons and online propaganda dissemination.
Dr. Basra has presented his research to multiple international bodies including the United Nations Security Council and European Council. He received the King's Outstanding Thesis Prize for his doctoral work on terrorism and radicalization processes.
