Perry Roth serves as an Adjunct Professor of Music (Saxophone) across multiple institutions, including The College of Wooster, Kent State University’s Hugh A. Glauser School of Music, and The Hartt School Community Division. He is also the saxophone teaching artist for the Yale Music in Schools Initiative. Roth holds the tenor saxophone chair in the Barkada Quartet since 2017.
He earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Saxophone Performance from The Hartt School, University of Hartford, where he was a graduate teaching fellow and recipient of the prestigious Regents’ Honor Award. Additional degrees include a Master of Music from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of South Carolina.
Roth’s performances span orchestras such as the Baton Rouge Symphony and Hartford Independent Chamber Orchestra, alongside collaborations with ensembles like the JACK Quartet and American Modern Ensemble. His pedagogical work includes summer teaching at Yale’s Morse Summer Music Academy and the Brevard Music Center.
Award highlights include fellowships at New Music on the Point (2014) and Yale’s Norfolk Chamber Music Festival (2018). His professional contributions blend performance, education, and advocacy for contemporary music.
