Paula Gobbi

Paula Gobbi is a Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and Director of ECARES since October 2024. She is a CEPR Research Affiliate and serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the European Economic Association. Her research focuses on Demographic Economics, Economic History, Development, and Growth. In 2020, she secured an ERC Starting Grant for her work on 'Inheritance, Demographics, and Economic Development'.

She leads ECARES, a prominent research center, and contributes to advancing interdisciplinary economic research. Her academic contributions span theoretical and applied economic analysis, with a strong emphasis on historical and demographic drivers of economic outcomes.
