About
Paul Keblinski is the John Tod Horton ’52 Professor of Materials Engineering and Department Head at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He holds a BS/MS from Warsaw University (1990) and a Ph.D. from Penn State University (1995). Prior to RPI, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Argonne National Laboratory and a Humboldt Fellow at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe.
His research focuses on microstructure-material property relationships, computational modeling of nanostructured materials, and bridging atomic-level studies with macroscopic constitutive models. Key areas include thermal transport, ferroelectric materials, and interfacial engineering. He leads the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and is affiliated with the Center for Materials, Devices, and Integrated Systems (CMDIS) and the Center for Computational Innovations (CCI).
Keblinski has authored over 200 publications, cited 30,000+ times (H-index 75). His work spans journals like Physical Review Letters and Nature Materials, emphasizing computational insights into material behavior. Awards include APS Fellowship (2014), MRS Fellowship (2020), and multiple RPI Engineering Excellence Awards.
His research and advisory efforts aim to advance nanomaterials and interfaces, with applications in electronics and energy. Collaborations span experimental and computational studies, guiding future material design and characterization.
