Paul Jantz serves at Bob Jones University as Director of Musical Activities and Associate Adjunct Professor of Trombone within the Department of Performance Studies, School of Fine Arts and Communication. With over 40 years of experience in music education and performance, he holds advanced degrees from BJU in Sacred Music and Music Education.
His research interests span sacred music composition, brass performance techniques, and church instrumental programming. Specializing in trombone pedagogy and brass ensemble direction, Jantz has developed extensive expertise through decades of teaching and performing with ensembles like the Foundation Brass sextet and GAMAC Chamber Orchestra.
As Director of Musical Activities, Jantz manages large-scale music festivals, summer camps, and the university's fine arts calendar. His leadership extends to church instrumental programs where he has served for over four decades, creating resources that bridge academic music training with practical ministry applications.
Jantz founded Jantz Music Publications (www.jantzmusic.com), providing sacred instrumental sheet music arrangements for churches and schools nationwide. The business features collections by arrangers like Glenn Christianson and Jess Turner, specializing in brass and woodwind arrangements of hymns and sacred music for various instrumental combinations including trumpet trios, clarinet ensembles, and full brass choirs.
