Paul Greaves is a Lecturer in Sport Development & Coaching at the University of Stirling's School of Sport. With over 23 years of industry experience spanning both education and national governing bodies, he brings extensive practical knowledge to his academic role.
Mr. Greaves holds a Masters degree in Advanced Coaching Practice and is a Level 6 British Gymnastics International Performance Coach & Master Coach. His academic journey reflects his deep commitment to the field of sports coaching and development.
His research and professional interests focus on High Performance Sport and High Performance Coaching practices. He is particularly interested in how sport development frameworks and sport structures can be optimized to enhance athletic performance. His work also explores enterprise within sport coaching, examining innovative business models that can sustain and grow coaching practices.
Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Greaves has received numerous prestigious awards:
- South Yorkshire Sport Young Coach of the Year 2007
- Runner up Sports Coach UK National Young Coach of the Year 2007
- Elite Coach of the Year at the 2010 South Yorkshire Sport awards
- British Gymnastics Outstanding Coach of the Year 2011
Before joining academia, Mr. Greaves established the Abbey Flyers Trampoline Club by age 24, which became one of Great Britain's leading performance clubs while also providing extensive grassroots recreational activities across Yorkshire and Derbyshire. His coaching expertise has produced some of the UK's top trampoline athletes, including double Olympic medallist, World and European Champion Bryony Page.
