Niklas Heijl Bremberg serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Political Science, Stockholm University. He holds concurrent positions as Associate Senior Research Fellow at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI) and Associate Senior Researcher at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

His research focuses on international relations theories, particularly constructivist approaches, EU foreign policy towards the Southern Mediterranean, climate-related security risks, and regional separatism in Europe. He teaches courses at multiple academic levels, including PhD seminars on Research Problems in Political Science and MA courses on International Security.
Key research projects include Anticipating the future: humanitarian aid in a changing climate, examining supranational actors' preparedness for climate-driven humanitarian crises. His publications address topics like EU climate security strategies, Mediterranean cooperation frameworks, and practice theory applications in international diplomacy.
