Thomas Jonter is Professor of International Relations at Stockholm University's Department of Economic History and International Relations. He holds a PhD in History from Uppsala University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Organisational Leadership from the University of Oxford.

- Global History of Anti-Nuclear and Peace Activism (Late Cold War)
- Re-writing the Constitutional History of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty
- Global Hiroshima and Nagasaki
His work focuses on disarmament policy, nuclear non-proliferation, and energy security, with particular emphasis on Sweden's historical nuclear program abandonment and EU policy frameworks.
Publications reveal expertise in nuclear weapons history, international security treaties, and energy security dynamics. His 2016 book The Key to Nuclear Restraint analyzes Sweden's transition from nuclear aspirant to disarmament leader using newly declassified archives.
