Nicole Haitzinger

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Nicole Haitzinger is a Professor of Dance Studies at the University of Salzburg, leading the transdisciplinary doctoral program Kulturen im Wandel and co-directing the Curating in the Performing Arts program. Her research focuses on performance history, decolonial practices, and curatorial theory. She collaborates internationally on projects like Border Dancing Across Time (FWF-funded) and To Bloom (2024).

Her academic roles include Deputy Head of the Department of Art, Music & Dance Studies and scientific director of interdisciplinary initiatives. Notable publications include Resonanzen des Tragischen (2015) and recent contributions on baroque performance (2025). She advises 7 doctoral candidates and actively bridges theory/practice through curation and dramaturgy.
