Nicki Fraser

Dr. Nicki Fraser is an Associate Teaching Professor & Chair at Florida International University (FIU), specializing in Public Policy and Service. She serves as Assistant Chair of the Department, supporting faculty and students aligned with FIU's strategic goals. Her roles include Global Learning (GL) and Collaborative International Online Learning (COIL) distinguished faculty, and she collaborates with the FIU Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), Frost Museum, and Maurice Ferré Institute for Civic Leadership.

Dr. Fraser holds a triple FIU graduate degree and has mentored over 50 Pathways and 4+1 PA students since 2019. She is the President of the ASPA South Florida Chapter and advises Pi Alpha Alpha, the Public Affairs Honor Society. Her teaching focuses on Public Policy and Administration courses across FIU's MMC and I75 campuses, emphasizing innovative learning environments through CAT and FIU Online training.

Her research interests include GL/COIL pedagogy, AI integration in education, and global policy frameworks like SDGs. She co-leads the Volker/NextGen Internship Grant and collaborates internationally via COIL courses with institutions like FGV (Brazil). Dr. Fraser serves on FIU's AI task force and actively explores AI's role in public administration education.

Her leadership at the Ferre Institute advances civic engagement and social justice, while her community work includes ASPA's professional development programs for South Florida public servants. She has presented on AI in education at academic conferences and advocates for global collaboration to address societal challenges.
