Agatha Caraballo

Agatha Caraballo is the Founding Director of the Maurice A. Ferré Institute for Civic Leadership and a Teaching Professor at Florida International University (FIU). She holds affiliations as Affiliate Faculty in the African and African-Diaspora Studies program and the Master of Arts in Global Affairs program. Her expertise spans online teaching, public policy, civic engagement, and leadership development.

Dr. Caraballo’s research and practice focus on public service leadership, diversity initiatives, and community development. She has organized numerous professional development events and received Quality Matters certification for her online courses, a national benchmark for distance education quality.

Her professional roles include past leadership in the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), serving as Chair and Treasurer of the Section for Women in Public Administration and President of the ASPA South Florida Chapter. She has also directed FIU’s Black Faculty Association Teaching Program.

Dr. Caraballo’s educational background includes a Ph.D. and B.S. in Public Affairs and Communication from FIU, and an Associate of Arts in Communication from Santa Rosa Junior College. She actively contributes to nonprofit leadership development and civic engagement initiatives.
