Nicholas Wong

Dr Nicholas Wong is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University. He joined the university in 2017 and is Co-Chair of the Management and Business History Division at the British Academy of Management. His expertise spans Entrepreneurship, Business History, and Historical Organization Studies. He co-edits SAGE Business Cases in Business History and leads modules including 'Entrepreneurship, Theory and Practice' and 'Family Business Studies'.

Education: PhD in History (2017–ongoing). Research focuses on ethical organizational challenges, family business dynamics, and historical corporate strategies. He co-leads the Business History Group and contributes to the Northumbria EPIC Research Centre, emphasizing entrepreneurship and economic development.

Research Interests: Exploring themes such as modern slavery management, corporate social responsibility, and the role of place in family businesses. His work bridges historical analysis with contemporary strategic challenges.

Key Awards: John F Mee Award (2018). He supervises three PhD students researching entrepreneurial support organizations, regulatory impacts, and organizational change during M&A. Active in co-authoring books and peer-reviewed articles.

Labs/Teams: Member of the Northumbria EPIC Research Centre, collaborating on projects related to entrepreneurship and innovation. Co-leads the Business History Group with Prof John Wilson.
