Nicholas Grossoehme

Nicholas Grossoehme is a Professor of Chemistry at Winthrop University and Dean of the Honors College. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Dartmouth College and completed postdoctoral research at Indiana University before joining Winthrop. His research focuses on bacterial metal regulatory mechanisms, particularly copper homeostasis and metalloregulators in Streptomyces coelicolor.

Research Interests

His work develops experimental methodologies for thermodynamic characterization of allosteric regulatory proteins, emphasizing copper homeostasis and its biological implications. Techniques include Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC), spectroscopy, and biophysical analysis.
