Nancy Brown

Dr. Nancy Brown is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at California State University, Stanislaus (CSU Stanislaus). She is affiliated with the College of the Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences and the Criminal Justice Department. Previously, she served as Chair of the Solano County Juvenile Commission, focusing on juvenile justice administration and reform.

Education:

• Bachelor's in Sociology/Criminology from San Jose State University
• Master's in Criminal Justice Administration from San Jose State University
• PhD in Criminal Justice from Capella University

Research Interests: Dr. Brown specializes in Restorative Justice, Juvenile Diversion programs, reducing recidivism, and addressing Disproportionate Minority Contact in the juvenile justice system. She actively practices restorative justice circles to address harm and trauma in impacted communities.

Teaching: She teaches courses in the Juvenile Justice concentration within the Criminal Justice Department.
