Dr. Jason Pourtaverdi is a Lecturer/Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at California State University Stanislaus since Fall 2016. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Honolulu School of Law (2011-2013) and Humphrey’s College (2007-2011), and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from CSU Stanislaus (2002-2007). He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in research areas of interest.

Research Interests: Focuses on criminal justice system structures, legal procedures, cybercrime forensics, organized crime dynamics, and the intersection of race/ethnicity with criminal justice systems. His teaching spans foundational courses like Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminal Law, and specialized topics including Capital Crimes, Juvenile Justice, and Cyber Crime Forensic Investigation.
Committee Work: Serves as Director/Coordinator of the Faculty Mentor Program (2018–Present) and member of the Faculty Development Committee (2019–2021). Engaged in various committees since 2016 to enhance academic and professional development initiatives.
Legal Experience: Over 15 years as a legal clerk/manager in state and federal criminal defense offices, including Senior Legal Clerk at Law Offices of Mark W. Girdner (2011–2016) and Managerial roles at Law Offices of Scott Mitchell (2007–2011). Currently operates Stan Legal Docs, managing legal document preparation.
